Russell Greene is an AFL champion with 304 games to his name and in many ways a typical 1980s footballer. In a time where mental illness wasn’t well understood, Russell, along with many of his contemporaries, leaned on a ‘she’ll be right’ way of thinking. Now, fast forward 30 odd years and Russell’s emotional and inspiring tale promotes a different attitude.
Joining her father in spreading the Better Out Than In message, Angie, the youngest of the family, helped her older brother Brent through an emotional rollercoaster during his mid-teens and has also experienced the trauma of losing three close male friends to suicide.
In sharing their heartening messages, Angie and Russell are impatient in their pursuit to influence change in society to ensure things are Better Out Than In.
